March 2025 Studio Update

Hello again!

I am just now settling into being a mother of TWO! This time with adding another member of the family these past 6 months has been a steep learning curve, but wonderful. I am feeling the fog lift more and more these days, and a feeling of newfound inspiration and freedom to create has emerged. See below for how that has already shaped the beginning of my year!

One of my goals this year has been to make art consistently every day, even if that is a 5 minute sketch after putting the girls to bed. With this recent consistent practice, I feel I have made a lot of progress in further developing my artistic style.

Here is a work in progress from one of my favorite color palettes.

I've even broken out the charcoal and graphite to draw again, which has been such an unexpected fun time!

I also recently finished a commission for a dear friend of mine. She requested a triptych (a set of 3 paintings that go together). They were such a joy to make.

These are 3 10x10 inch paintings of acrylic on canvas.

My availability to devote time to my creative practice changes daily, so I have continued to stubbornly learn to hold any future plans loosely. My Army husband is also set to deploy this month, so I'll be single parenting these two little girls for most of the rest of 2025. Despite this busy season, I am so very grateful for my creative practice as a peaceful outlet for these often not so peaceful times.

Thank you as always for your support - it means the world to me. Have a wonderful spring!
